Introducing Sue:
“I was ordained in 1987 so was one of the first women to be ordained in the Church of England! Since then I have served in a variety of contexts and roles but a large part of my time was spent in Loughborough where I was Chaplain to the University and Colleges and then a parish priest.
I was born and brought up in Birmingham and remain very close to myfamily who all now live in Sheffield. I have a number of interests but probably the one I have given the most time to over the years is music –both singing and playing the piano.
I was appointed to the Flagstaff Team in 2023. Within this role, I have responsibility for St Helen’s, Ashby de la Zouch, St Mary’s, Coleorton, the congregation at Staunton Harold and All Saints, Isley Walton as well as Breedon Priory Church. I feel very fortunate to have beautiful buildings within my care but I am also passionate about these buildings having wider use and connection with the local community and further afield”
